On Oct 1st, 2011 we had Joel (Alys younger brother) tested in the TrialNet study, we got his results back and he tested NEGATIVE for the antibody .... so you ask what does that mean for Joel and our family .... what that means is that he has less of a chance to be diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. We have to have him retested yearly. A negative result is NOT a guarantee that his pancreas won't crap out on insulin production but still a pretty good chance that he won't. Great result for our family
